About Denise Peck, APRN-CNP

Denise Peck, APRN-CNP, has 20 years of orthopedic hip and knee replacement patient care experience as a nurse practitioner. Ms. Peck completed her undergraduate degree in Nursing at Mount Mercy College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and earned her Master of Science in Nursing at Allen College, Waterloo, Iowa. Ms. Peck is certified as an advanced practice registered nurse by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

While going to graduate school Ms. Peck started in orthopedic nursing and developed a passion for improving lives through restoring mobility. After three years working in a local hospital and implementing the “Rapid Recovery” program with the orthopedic surgeons, she transferred to the University of Iowa Department of Orthopedic Surgery. During her years at Iowa, she practiced and learned from world-renowned surgeons that pioneered the design of many implants and performed research to improve the science of adult joint reconstruction.

As a nurse practitioner, Ms. Peck is able to examine, diagnose and treat patients in addition to the orthopedic surgeon. This unique flexibility allows patients the option to book their appointments sooner, expediting the treatment process. Ms. Peck also offers non-operative arthritis care including knee joint injections, and assists with post-operative recovery. She helps prepare patients for surgery when they are ready for joint replacement or when they need revision joint surgery.
