About Mitchell J. Magee, MD

Mitch Magee, MD, is a board-certified thoracic surgeon on the medical staff at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. Dr. Magee is a pioneer and recognized expert in minimally invasive thoracic surgery, having authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and medical textbook chapters on minimally invasive (VATS) techniques, patient-care quality measures, diagnostic staging and treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, tumors of the thymus and mediastinum, and surgical treatment of myasthenia graves, hyperhidrosis, and emphysema. He has practiced at numerous DFW area hospitals since 1998. Dr. Magee is the founding Medical Director of the first Comprehensive Lung Center in North Texas, which serves as a resource for primary care physicians and patients to obtain LDCT lung cancer screenings, treatment of lung nodules, and second opinions in managing diseases of the chest. Through affiliation with national cancer research organizations, he provides patients with new, cutting-edge treatment options and access to clinical trials.
